What’s the point of having a fabulous garden if you can’t spend any time in it? I don’t know about you, but where I live, the weather isn’t exactly great! Half the year is full of rainfall, so it’s not always easy to enjoy my garden to its fullest degree. That doesn’t mean I can’t get out there, though! I love my garden, and I want to spend as much time in it as possible. Here are a few things you can do to make sure that you can enjoy your garden 365 days-a-year.

Shelters

If the rain is pouring and you can’t get outside to sit in your chair, you can head to the shelter instead. That is, of course, if you’ve got one! There are all sorts of different styles you can buy to provide cover from websites like www.bacchigazebo.com/en/home.html. Whether it’s a full structure in the corner of your garden, or a simple add-on to your home so you can sit outside, it doesn’t matter. You might even just have a big umbrella for a table that can keep the rain off your head!

Lighting

Particularly in the summer, sitting outside in the evening is such a calming experience. It’s normally a very comfortable temperature, and there’s a certain beauty about sitting outside in the night. Of course, it’s very difficult to do that if you haven’t got any lighting. Think about buying something like mylightingsource.com feiss lighting or browse your local store. Then, you’ll be able to sit outside until the early hours!

Furniture

You can’t spend time in the garden unless you’ve got garden furniture! By this, we’re talking garden chairs and big tables. Think about whether you’ve got enough furniture to cope if you have a big party with a lot of guests. You also want to make sure you pick good quality stuff, or you might find that it rusts easily. Keep it locked away in the shed if you’re expecting particularly harsh weather.

Shade Spots

Ideally, you want to create a few shade spots just in case the weather turns particularly nice. The last thing you want is to get a sunburn just because you wanted to sit out in the garden! You can strategically trim bushes and trees so you can benefit from the shade if you want to. Otherwise, get a big umbrella for your seating area and you won’t have to worry about the sun’s powerful beam.

Repellents

If there’s one thing I hate about the summer, it’s all the bugs. I sit down and get ready for a relaxing afternoon in the sun, and then I’m greeted by wasps, midges and much more. In anticipation of this, you’re probably going to want to invest in repellents. There all sorts available on the market, from applications you apply to your skin to items that sit in your pocket. Choose something that is safe and you’re happy with.

So there you go! You’ve got a beautiful garden out there, so don’t let anything ruin your enjoyment of it!
