Swinging sixtiesLR

Your wedding day is likely to be a day you have dreamt about since childhood. It is, without a doubt, one of the most important and exciting days of anyone’s life.

So why is it so difficult and stressful to plan your wedding? We didn’t sign up for that!

You’re engaged and happier than ever but you’ve heard the horror stories about how horrible wedding planning can be. Fear not, there are ways that can make planning your wedding so much easier and stress-free!

Hire a wedding planner

If you’ve got the money to pay a wedding planner, of course. Unfortunately, their prices are high so if you’re struggling with the budget, this probably isn’t the route for you. Hiring a wedding planner means that you tell them what you want in your wedding and then they arrange it for you. Sometimes they may come back to you for a decision on a few details, but in general, once you’ve told your wedding planner what you want from your wedding, you can pretty much sit back and look forward to your big day. They’re also really useful for people that work around the clock and don’t have the time to plan a wedding.

Split the load

It’s very likely that either a friend or family member will be more than willing to help you arrange a few things for your wedding. Create a schedule and a task list and then divide it up between you all. The list will soon go down and you’ll feel the stress sizzle away!

Don’t conform

Have the wedding that you and your partner want. Not the one his Mother wants. It’s your wedding and it’s a day that you’re spending a lot of money on. Make it the day you want and don’t let it bother you what anyone else thinks!

Use the internet

The internet is a powerful tool and you can use that to your advantage. Search for ideas for your theme, decorations, dresses, suits and even venues. Compare prices, so you know you’re getting the best deal. Use a review site like The Knot to compare companies and see what other people thought of their service/product. Brilliant Earth is an excellent example of what you should be looking for; a high rate of good reviews.

Give yourself enough time

It’s super exciting when you get engaged, and it’s easy to fall into the trap of wanting to get married right away. Being engaged is a promise that you make to each other for the future prospect of marriage, so you don’t need to walk down the aisle just yet. Make sure you give yourself enough time to plan your wedding. It will also give you more time to find the perfect everything for your wedding and time to save some money too!

Follow this advice and you’ll find that planning your wedding isn’t that bad. There will always be an element of stress, but think about the end product. You’re marrying your soulmate and it’s going to be one of the best days of your life.
