If you are looking for a new restaurant in Belgravia look no further. I headed to UNI which is a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian, just minutes from Victoria and I was not disappointed. Actually my mum and I decided to have a bit of quality time together and went out for one of the best meals we’ve had in a longtime. Believe me that really says a lot as I travel so much with work and am lucky to have been invited to some of the best restaurants in the world with work.


UNI brings vibrant colours, flavours and textures of the very best in Peruvian and Japanese fusion cuisine, Nikkei to the Belgravia area, London. Taking its name from the Japanese word for the sea urchin, a Japanese delicacy, the Andrew Martin-designed restaurant and sushi bar is open for lunch and dinner, Monday to Friday inclusive and Saturday from 5pm.


The creation of former Nobu chef Rolando Ongcoy, the menu at UNI offers a selection of grilled meats and fish such as succulent Wagyu beef and juicy black cod, the highest quality sushi and sashimi, and an inventive selection of tempura and maki with perfectly balanced sharp flavours and an accent on colour.  The Peruvian influence is prevalent throughout UNI’s menu, with touches such as an anticucho sauce with the black cod as well as ceviche and tiraditos peruano.


Sample dishes on offer at UNI include:

  • Salmon tartare tacos
  • Seabass with a yuzu dressing and black truffle
  • King crab, lobster, vegetable or king prawn tempura
  • Black cod with anticucho sauce
  • Wagyu beef with rock salt and chilli


Accompanied by an excellent wine list and selection of creative cocktails such as a coconut-based Chili Mojito and the Peruvian favourite, Pisco Sour, UNI’s menu is designed to cater for both those looking for a delicious meal in a relaxed and stylish environment as well as guests looking for a light bite with a drink in the bar.

UNI also offers a range of delicious seven-dish bento boxes available in the bar; ideal for those with time-constraints or heading back to the office, as well as a full range of outside catering options; perfect for office functions, meetings and events.

Monday to Friday 12pm to 10.30pm

Saturday 6pm to 10.30 pm

Sunday : 5pm to 10.30pm

So I’m sure you are wondering what we ate? Well here’s the courses we shared which we decided to team with the most delectable watermelon cocktails. Ever dish literally melted in the mouth the flavours were just divine and the staff were so attentive. I can’t wait for our next trip to UNI and highly recommend this gem in Belgravia.
