The Secret to Beautiful, Stunning Eyes

The Secret to Beautiful, Stunning Eyes

The secret to true beauty is in the eyes. Beautiful eyes have a way of captivating us. They are mysterious, passionate, and stunning. It’s the most important part of our beauty routine, and we won’t leave the house until it’s perfect! If you need some eye inspiration, take a look at the beautiful peepers on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Or Olivia Wilde. Better yet, go back to the classic look of Elizabeth Taylor. Whether you prefer to enhance the size or opt for a more mysterious, dark style, we’ve got some top tips.

Get plenty of sleep

Strangely enough, most of the best tips don’t have anything to do with makeup. In fact, it all comes down to natural health. You don’t need me to explain that a bad night’s sleep leads to tired, puffy eyes. You wake up in the morning with bloodshot irises, and big, dark circles underneath. No amount of makeup can truly hide tired eyes. Instead, make sure you’re getting at least seven or eight hours of sleep. You’ll wake up refreshed, and your eyes will look energised and glowing.

Drink lots of water

Drinking tons of water is right at the top of our general beauty routine. It’s the single most important thing you can do for your skin. And it’s why some models drink up to four litres every day. If you ask me, that’s a bit too much! Beauty experts recommend around two litres per day, and that’s more than enough for me. Staying hydrated keeps your skin cells replenished and full. They appear natural and glowing. Again, skin creams won’t save the day here, drink your water!

Cucumbers and tea bags

It might sound like an old wives tail, but putting cucumbers and tea bags on your eyes really works. The science behind it is too boring to explain. But, let’s just say that that it reduces the puffiness, and breathes new life into your eyes. Cucumbers are full of water, which naturally transfer to your skin. Meanwhile, tea has tons of antioxidants and good vibes that your skin loves.

Coloured lenses

You’ve probably noticed that lots of celebs with stunning eyes have perfect coloured irises. That’s great for them, but what about those of us born with a greeny, bluey, brown colour? Well, you could try bright blue contact lenses. They bring a shot of real colour to your eyes, and concentrate the effect.

Make up tricks

You thought I was going to leave you hanging, didn’t you? Don’t worry, my last tip is all about clever makeup tricks. Remember, you can change your entire look with makeup. First of all, neutralize those dark circles with a good concealer. (Try to choose a tone that is one tone lighter than your natural skin colour). Secondly, use eye-liner, but only half way. Drawing the full length makes your eyes look smaller. Next layer up your eye shadow with three progressive shades to make your eyes look bigger. Finish it with an eyelash curler, and a thickening mascara.

Make these tricks part of your beauty regime, and your eyes will smile!
