The Perfect Honeymoon Suite
The Perfect Honeymoon Suite
If you are looking for The Perfect Honeymoon Suite, ultimate luxury, incredible views of central London and a roof terrace space to die for, look no further. My husband and I recently stayed at The Marylebone Hotel in their recently launched Roof Terrace Suite known as The Marylebone Suite and all I can say is I’m utterly obsessed. We went to stay at The Marylebone Hotel for a night and had lots of plans to go to the V&A, shopping in Knightsbridge and drinks all over the westend to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived an hour early and planned to drop our bags and head out for lunch but our suite was already prepared so we headed up to our room.
I have been so blessed staying in some of the most beautiful hotels around the world whilst presenting a wine TV show and over the years as a journalist. However much I appreciate the beautiful surroundings my breath is rarely taken away, yet when I walked into our gorgeous suite I felt just a little mesmerised.
I love London and the buzz of working and socialising in the city I never get bored. Yet to be standing in my own personal suite with the biggest roof terrace I’ve personally ever seen in a city was an incredible feeling. So did we rush out for lunch and to shop? No we ordered room service and indulged in a celebratory bottle of champers (rather English quality sparkling wine) on our terrace with the roof off and the windows down. We abandoned all plans and just embraced the luxury surrounding us, the tranquility that is so rare for a couple of busy working professionals with a manic family life and kids.
We changed into our robes chilled out, ate, read (from the fascinating selection of Fashion and Design books the room had to offer). Later in the early evening we put the TV on in the background of the terrace while we indulged in coffee, time together and more relaxation. The roof is retractable so if its raining you can choose to cover the terrace and close the electric windows, put the heaters on and watch TV or read. After dinner at 108 Brasserie we decided again not to venture out but get cosy on the roof terrace and take in the stunning views. The hotel have thought of every detail and amenities one could need to keep you happy and relaxed even down to a gorgeous cashmere throw on the terrace sofas to keep snug.
The lounge is separate to the large terrace and leads onto a bedroom with king size bed, bathroom and dining area plus small kitchen/bar. So lets talk amenities this suite has it all! One amazing design feature I love is that if you have friends over for a party or drinks on the terrace you can close the bedroom off which you can see in my vlog above. The sofas on the terrace and the lounge look incredibly stylish but are so comfy. The 60″ lounge mirror turns into a TV. The bedroom was turned down when we went to dinner so all the lights were low, curtains drawn etc when we came back to our room.
Apart from the fabulous design of the room they’ve certainly thought of everything, lovely bathroom accessories and super soft towels and robes. Accessories are by Aromatherapy Associates. Theres a cleverly hidden dressing table, mirror and chair which automatically lights up when you open the door. Scales for the figure conscious and a fabulous television above the bath so I can’t deny I indulged in a bit of morning TV whilst in the jacuzzi bath. Another important but small detail is there were plenty of bottles of still and sparkling water and a coffee machine.
In the evening we decided to dine in the hotels own restaurant 108 Brassiere and were not disappointed, I’ll be writing about this soon so stay tuned. We then retired back to our beautiful roof terrace and just relaxed whilst completely in awe of the exquisite view and city architecture.
So did we venture down to the restaurant for Breakfast sadly no the lure of our roof terrace was far too much so we chose to have breakfast in the privacy of our terrace wearing our robes and reading. The Suite itself is 80 sqm / 860sqft. The private all weather terrace has a TV, fireplace and outdoor heaters, the biggest city terrace I’ve seen at 40sqm/432sqft. I also nearly forgot to add how helpful our butler was at explaining the new trend for English sparkling wines, which may I add was very yummy and also a big thanks to Long for being so incredibly helpful.
If you are looking for a romantic luxury break in the city, an anniversary or honeymoon evening I couldn’t think of a more indulgent, romantic and delightful place to spend it than the Marylebone Suite at The Marylebone Hotel in the heart of Marylebone Village. We felt like we’d spent a week at a spa and my friend actually commented at how chilled I looked on my return.
With thanks to the staff of The Marylebone Hotel (part of the Doyle Collection) for such a romantic and rejuvenating stay.
The roof terrace suite is from £1500 a night and well worth every penny to indulge in a slice of heaven in the centre of the city. It includes an À la carte breakfast and Champagne, fresh fruit and flowers on arrival.
