The Grill at The Dorchester

The Grill at The Dorchester

dor1This iconic Mayfair restaurant has been transformed for a new culinary chapter. First established in 1931, The Grill at The Dorchester quickly gained a reputation as the place to be for the finest grill food in London. In keeping with this original concept, Alain Ducasse’s protégé Christophe Marleix has created new seasonal menus. Delicious dishes range from grill favourites alongside the restaurant’s signature blue lobster chowder and an extensive sweet soufflé menu – the first of its kind in London.
Lively and welcoming, the re-imagined restaurant fuses The Dorchester’s iconic elegance with a contemporary tone and creative details. Interior architect Bruno Moinard was commissioned by The Dorchester to create a vibrant and timeless setting.

The restaurant features a striking, hand-blown Murano glass chandelier and contrasting natural materials including zinc, copper and marble, set against butterscotch leather and oak parquet flooring. Pivoting wall panels create a separate ambience from day to night, creating an inviting atmosphere morning to night.

Years ago, I personally trained in wine for a wine TV series I used to present and within the wine world food and wine go hand in hand. So to deem me a food snob would probably be quite appropriate. My hubby and I do love a good traditional Sunday Roast so instead of a candlelit dinner for our birthdays this February we decided to try out the Sunday Roast menu for a change at The New Grill at The Dorchester and we were not disappointed. Apart from the stunning setting, the service was second to none, the Sommelier choose a fantastic wine for my husband and the food was incredible. At £48 a head for a 3 course meal I feel its well worth the splurge. Each course left my mouth watering, the beef was cooked to perfection and so tender, the stilton bread was a quirky treat and both the starter and deserts were sublime. Here’s a peak at the menu and our indulgent Sunday Roast:
