Last week we were invited to try out Tibits, a vegetarian/vegan restaurant on Heddon Street. To be completely honest we were a tad apprehensive about there being no meat whatsoever on the menu but it was absolutely delicious.
Vegetarian/vegan food is really popular these days with many people making the switch for health and environmental reasons. However many make the mistake of thinking it maybe tasteless and bland. Trust us when we say that the food at Tibits is ANYTHING but tasteless. There are over two dozen dishes to choose from including lovely fresh salads; fragrant curries with rice or cous cous and home comforts such as mash and quiche!
There is also a heavenly selection of desserts including a passion fruit cheesecake that we had three helpings of! Unlike a usual buffet you pay depending on the weight of the food. Once you’ve filled up your plate you take it to the counter where they weigh it, you pay for it and then enjoy it! We tried to try as much of the food as possible but we just couldn’t so we will definitely be going back!
Lets be honest buffets are not the place to go if you want to make a good impression, they feel cheap. However Tibits had a lovely chilled out atmosphere, especially impressive as it’s just off Regents St, and a laid back but stylish décor that made it feel like a top restaurant rather than a buffet. Best of all the service was quick and friendly.
This is the perfect place to go if you’re vegan /vegetarian or know someone who is but also perfect for any situations such dates, business meetings or even if you want to relax after a long day of shopping. We promise even the most ardent of carnivores will be satisfied! We are just loving the swiss inspiration here and promise this is a must try, vegan or not.
