When it comes to our skin and the ageing process more and more people are considering quick fix options nowadays like Botox and filler which can be costly and for some the results are not long lasting.

The beauty industry, magazines and salons can be a minefield of treatments and products. So i have partnered up with a local salon in Essex, to give you the run down on the latest and some of our favourite facial treatments out there.

As everyone’s skin is different, age dependant so are the treatments you should be considering. There really is something for everyone but most of the time the best way to start looking after your skin is to find a local practitioner you’ve heard through word of mouth that friends and family recommend and that the results are good. Then go and see them and ask what they recommend for you age, skin type and the results you hope to achieve.

So I’ve done just that, I’ve embarked on a skin journey with a local salon in Essex called Salon 112, I’d heard great things about them and went in to see Kate one of their therapists for a consultation.

Salon 112 opened in 2001 to bring the most innovative treatments and products to the local area providing their clients with the very latest in beauty at competitive pricing. Sue and her team offer non-invasive state of the art technology, coupled with highly skilled and knowledgeable aestheticians to provide a wide array of treatments and products for your skins every need. Treatments and products offered include, Energist IPL treatments for Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation. Epionce & Agera Skin Peel System for Anti-nAgeing, Acne & Rosacea. Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion & Oxygen Facials, Skeyndor Non Invasive Mesotherapy, CIT DermaRoller and Permanent Make-Up. They offer one to one consultations to identify the clients needs and how best to treat them. Every client is treated as an individual and a combination of treatments can be brought together to bring the best possible results.

They are also dedicated to continuing research into the latest non-surgical anti-ageing treatments and on going investment in state of the art technology to offer their clients cutting edge medical aesthetics and beauty treatments.

Kate decided to start me off with a Skeyndor power C and mesofiller combination facial especially as I would be filming the following week, interviewing celebrities in High Definition for the Gold Class Hair Extensions Launch by Inanch London in Fitzrovia and my skin needed to be gleaming.

So whats this treatment all about?

This is no needle mesotherapy. The treatment has fantastic brightening effects due the high level of 15% pure concentrate vitamin C. The  Vitamin C also stimulates the metabolism in the formation of collagen, boosting collagen production and cell renewal preventing loss of elasticity. The 6% pomegranate ampoule has amazing antioxidant properties for protecting the skin and is a powerful skin repairer helping with aging and protection from the sun, it can also help in treating hyper pigmentation. Mesofiller has a high level of hylauronic acid for smoothing, firming and plumping the skin and gives an instant lift.

Results are instant and a fantastic glow is achieved directly after treatment. Long term results can be achieved with a course and maintenance depending upon skin condition.

The salon would usual recommend a course of 6 with the initial treatments taken 1-2 weeks apart, and monthly maintenance after that dependant on skin condition and client expectation.

So what happens?

The Electrical current acts as a delivery mechanism for the active ingredients, pushing the product through the dermal layers. This allows the cell membrane to become permeable allowing the cell to absorb the vital active ingredients. In other words the machine helps push the essential good bits of a product deeper into the skin where it really needs the help.

Then there’s the Light therapy, which is great because the skin has been proven to absorb light, it activates the skin and boosts stimulation and the healing process within the skin.

There’s two types: 1/ Red-skin rejuvenation for anti ageing and 2/ Blue – anti bacterial for acne and purifing.

So here’s the stages of my treatment:
  • Firstly Kate cleansed my skin with skeyndor thermal cleanser.
  • Then Kate applied a second cleanser with skeyndor glycol cleanse. This is a 30% skeyndor glycol added to the skin for 3 minutes to neutralise skin and then both were removed with gentle cleanser.
  • 15% Vitamin C ampoule was applied to my face and neck, by being massaged into skin using electroporation (no needle mesotherapy) and red led light therapy (skin rejuvenation) for 8 minutes.
  • Then Kate applied 1ml of 6% pomegranate ampoule massaged into the skin using electroporation for further 8 minutes.
  • A further mesofiller ampoule was applied (hylauronic acid) massaged into face and neck using electroporation for 15 mins.
  •  She then added a calming Aloe Vera mask
  •  Finally she removed the mask and finished with a power C energising cream.

The treatment took around an hour, I was really relaxed and my skin looked amazing immediately after the treatment and for the rest of the week. This treatment is:

  • £65.00 per treatment
£162.50 per course of 3 treatments
£325.00 per course of 6 treatments
