However, as much as we love it, there are just some days where we don’t feel like wearing makeup. Maybe we’re in too much of a rush to spend an hour in front of the mirror, or maybe we’ve broken out and our skin needs a bit of a break. Whatever the reason, going barefaced can be somewhat daunting if you’re used to wearing makeup most days. But, there are other ways you can enhance your natural beauty so you can still feel confident even without makeup.

Clean, healthy hair

This might seem obvious. But, if you’re going out running errands in your scrubs with a bare face, adding greasy hair on top of that isn’t really going to set off your look. Straggly, unwashed hair just gives the impression that you don’t take care of yourself too much. Plus, if you’re self conscious about it, you may find yourself fiddling with it during the day, which can make it worse. Depending on your hair type and product usage, set a number of days per week in your diary when you know you’ll have time to wash your hair. Even if it’s not styled, having fresh hair when you leave the house can make you feel so much better – and confidence is the best look of all! If you really don’t have time to wash your hair or something came up, make sure you have a backup bottle of dry shampoo ready to spritz on any greasy roots.

Most people say that when looking for a potential partner, good teeth are the top of their list of physical expectations. Whether you’re looking for love or not, a bright smile can make all the difference to your natural face. Find a trusty local dentist that you can rely on. After all, going to the dentist isn’t everyone’s favourite experience, so you might as well make the best you can out of the situation. Alongside regular check ups, implement a regular brushing and flossing regime. Adding mouthwash and carrying a pack of gum in your bag can also make sure that you have fresh breath all day long.

Looking more awake

Even if you’re not wearing foundation, there are products available that can help you look more ready for the day. The number one product for this is eye cream. If our eyes look dull and tired, our whole face can follow suit. After your morning cleansing routine, apply some eye cream around your whole eye area. These creams can help reduce the appearance of both fine lines and dark circles, giving you a more alert look. If you need a little extra ‘oomph’, put some white eyeliner in the corners of your eyes and add some highlight underneath. These little tricks can really make all the difference.
