You can even get married in historical chapel ruins for something completely unique. The Hermitage is an 1800’s chapel ruins on Mount Alvernia. There’s a legal requirement that you must have been in the Bahamas for twenty-four hours before you can apply for a marriage license, this is then valid for ninety days. Not a big deal at all, just something to be aware of so you can plan accordingly.

There are some truly breathtaking locations for your Hawaii wedding, where you can say your vows for an unforgettable big day. From Kealakekua Bay which is frequented by dolphins to Makua Beach- stunning sandy stretches with a background of green mountains. If you don’t want to go down the beach route, why not get married in front of a waterfall? There are a myriad to choose from on the Hawaiian islands- and think of the wedding photos! Alternatively, you could opt for a wedding in the lavender fields. Rght above a main mountaintop you’ll find alii kula lavender fields, a sweet smelling heaven. Bliss! Hawaii has a year round warm climate, a relaxed way of life and scenery to knock your socks off. The perfect destination for a romantic wedding.

The Maldives

While any non- Muslim weddings in the Maldives won’t be seen as legal, it’s still a destination where you can have an amazing symbolic wedding. You just need to apply for a marriage license in the country where you live either before the wedding. You could even have a smaller do back when you’re home and invite those who couldn’t fly out with you. Out in the sunshine on a beautiful beach, sunshine all year long and plenty of romantic sights to enjoy with your love it’s certainly a destination to consider! After your wedding day, you could enjoy snorkeling, scuba diving, and water sports before flying home- there’s even the opportunity to swim with sharks! You could take photos of the magnificent reefs with their stunning blue waters take in the huge range of animal and plant life in the Maldives.

Which of these tropical paradises appeals to you most? Did you/ would you get married abroad?
