Our Day At Stylist Live

Stylist Magazine put on a huge event last week, Stylist Live,  that aimed to bring their readers in the world of the magazine. It took place at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London over 4 days.  It was a great opportunity to rub shoulders with famous make up artists, like the Pixiwoo sisters, authors and chefs among others, as well as get pampered and do some shopping. Apart from the usual clothing and accessorises brands there were also some amazing homeware and food/drink exhibitors too as well as crafts and stationery.

There were informative talks about how to make a career in the different channels of magazine journalism but also talks on other things such as how to set up a business for £100. Stylist put on a fashion show with the top five trends for Autumn/Winter 2015 which was lovely and we can’t wait to hit the shops and buy some of the pieces from the catwalk – which luckily for us were all mostly high street!

We attended on the second day of the event and had a fantastic time. It was a really fun atmosphere with loads to do so we hope they make it an annual event. Check out our day in pictures!

The atmosphere was electric when we arrived on Friday morning – the free glass of bubbly definitely helped wake us up! The chance to take a picture and have it look like the cover of the magazine with those lovely ballon’s was a great idea and there was another with a huge wall of gorgeous flowers.

There was a brilliant mini exhibition about how the magazine was founded, it’s development and achievements over the years as well displaying some of their most popular covers. Attendee’s also had the chance to design their own Stylist cover with some lovely results!

Edith Bowman presented the catwalk show- which ran several times a day.
The first thing we did was attend the Trend Report Catwalk Show, where the magazine highlighted five key trends for A/W15. There were some stunning clothes on the catwalk and even better it was all from the high street!

After that we spent most of the day browsing, and making a dent in our bank account, at the dozens of clothes, accessories, homeware and food/drink stands. Most of them were offering discounts for event attendee’s so it made our purchases that much sweeter!
