Maleficent VIP Pamper Competition

After the much anticipated release of Disney’s Maleficent which is rated PG we can now head down to our local Cinemas to checkout Angelina in all her glory! The film opened on May 28th and broke box-office records over the opening weekend with a staggering £6.6m!! So if your one of my loyal readers and have been keeping tabs on my last few posts you’ll know that to celebrate the release I will be sharing a VIP luxury pamper competition with one of my lucky readers.

Leading celebrity hair extensionist Inanch London were invited by their long-standing friends at Disney UK to recreate Maleficent’s horns and head piece for their official “Discover Maleficent” hub on Tumblr which contains information about the film with exclusive content and exciting fashion and beauty features inspired by Maleficent and Princess Aurora.

To capture the magic of Disney’s most iconic Villainess, Inanch London recreated the horns of Maleficent using real human hair extensions! Over 700 grams of their own line Gold Class hair extensions were used by their hair extensions guru and reigning Hair Awards 2014 Best Extensionist Inanch Emir to create the infamous horns –  equivalent to 5 heads of hair extensions used on general clients. Maleficent’s head piece and collar was also created using real human hair extensions!

So how did they create Maleficent’s horns, headpiece and collar?

They used a special mesh wire and sculpted the mesh to the shape of the horns and then cut out 2 holes on either side of a base cap and fed the horns through the cap and placed on a model block head.

To keep the horns in firm place, they applied masking tape around both the horns and the base cap. They then wrapped their Gold Class hair extension wefts around both the horns and the base cap. In order to keep the hair wefts firm, they varnished the hair and left to dry overnight. On the day of the shoot they placed the horns/head piece on the model’s head and wrapped her own her around the base of the horns in order to blend with her own hair and to keep the head piece sturdy. The head piece and collar section was also created using two 60cm hair wefts glued together with the upper section varnished to create the stiffness. They wrapped the collar around the model’s neck and tied together using a long piece of hair strand and wrapped more wefts around the beck in order to get the whole upper body of the models covered in loose hair.

Here’s where it gets exciting guys, I’ve been going to Inanch london for years and they kindly offered to invite my readers to get involved with a fab malificent themed competition. If you want the chance to have a VIP treatment (hair treatment, blowdry, manicure, glass of champage and a goody bag)  in their celebrity great Portland steet salon in London here’s what you need to do:
