Look Great In Later Life

Look Great In Later Life

None of us like it, but as time goes on our skin can start to age very noticeably. If you’re beginning to notice such signs, then you may be wondering about what you can do to help it. Nothing can make you look 21 again I’m afraid. However, there are a few steps you can take to ensure you age as gracefully as possible.

The first thing you need to do is cut down on any vices in your life. This can be extremely hard depending on how used to them you are. However, if you want better looking skin bad enough, I’m sure you’ll be able to make it through. Alcohol is probably one we’re all guilty of. This dilates the blood vessels, and causes more blood flow near the surface of the skin. When people overwork the liver through alcohol use, it can often show up on the skin as an unpleasant, sallow complexion. Smoking is bad for your health for a number of reasons, but its effects on the skin are noticeably unattractive. Enough nicotine can cause the blood vessels to narrow, which leads to the skin sagging and wrinkling prematurely.

Next up, the things that you should be getting. You probably already have a pretty good diet already, but you should still look for ways you can bump up your vitamin C intake. Collagen, the main structural protein making up your skin, depends heavily on your levels of vitamin C. Without a good amount of this nutrient, amino acids wouldn’t be able to bond and replenish your collagen. Leafy vegetables such as broccoli and sprouts, along with fruits like oranges and kiwis, are all fantastic sources of vitamin C. Once you tweak your diet enough, you’ll start to notice wrinkles becoming less visible and deep. You should also try to consume more antioxidants. Getting more of these is good for several reasons. One class of antioxidant which is beneficial to the skin are catechins, which are found in green tea. Leafy vegetables such as spinach contain a lot of lutein, which you should also be getting.

I could sit here and type up dieting tips all day. However, we all know that healthy choices can’t fix certain things. If you can afford it, and you feel you really need it, then you may want to get some cosmetic surgery. These institutions can help you with teeth straightening, bone grafting and so on. A person’s smile does a lot more for their overall looks than you might think! You may also want to have some kind of fillers or botox treatment. Whatever it is you’re targeting, be sure to go for a professional surgery like Harbor View oral and facial surgery. These treatments are very expensive, and a botched job can be horrible to live with.

I hope these tips have given you a clearer idea for staying healthy in your old age. Whatever you do, remember that aesthetic beauty is a miniscule part of life. Some of the most good-looking people in the world aren’t as happy as you!
