We spoke to fashion designer Anna Pitchouguina about her superbly simply but sophisticated SS16 collection.
Tell us about the SS16 collection for Pitchouguina?
The collection focuses on just two colours blue and white but there’s a lot of textures involved. That’s kind of my thing I like to work with a limited colour range and then work from that and create shapes and over lay the fabrics. Usually I work with quite light fabrics, even in winter, so it feels nice to layer.
What textures did you decide on and why?
Checks. I got really drawn to checks. The first thing in my creative process is going to fairs and mills in Italy and picking the fabric so I just got drawn to them. It felt like a really summery and seaside style collection to tectures is a good mix. You can’t always see in pictures so it’s more about seeing the garment and feeling it for yourself.
If you could dress one celeb who would it be and why?
I like Carey Mulligan. Just because I love her as an actress.
