Julien Macdonald AW14 Collection Day 2 London Fashion Week

Julien Macdonald closes Day 2 of London Fashion Week with his AW14 Collection influenced by celebrating women at the Royal Courts of Justice. His signature style: “My designs are sexy, high octane, powerful and liberating.” His trademark piece: “A red carpet glamourous embellished dress.”

With showstopping glamour and eye catching pieces to seduce the red carpet garnished with elaborate details and intricate designs. Sheer, embellished, floor length dresses, thigh-high slits were gracing his AW14 catwalk collection.

His strong celebrity following was clear at his show, in attendance were Mary Charteris, The Saturdays and Pixie Lott. All girls that love flamboyant performance pieces that Julien always has to offer.

The collection had an edgier feel than usual with racer-backs, midriff-baring cutouts, naval-grazing necklines and mesh inserts, every inch the epitome of glamour. With glimmer and shine at its best the eye catching detail to these show stopping pieces were in the bejewelled and embellished perfection. Bold statement dresses that were both fun but rockier at the same time.

This glittering showcase of glamour is for the women who is not afraid to make an entrance, its tailored for that women who wants to make an entrance!

Key colours that charged his catwalk show were silver, black and gold and a touch of blue.

Makeup by Val Garland took inspiration from the Cathedral-esque surroundings. The makeup focus was to create a ‘Wet Look’.

Hair was by James Pecis using  L’Oreal mousse a key product to create a look with a focus on wet hair, combed back but with a relaxed feel.

The focus of the Nails were using products by L’oreal, mainly glossy darks: L’Oreal Paris’ Black Swan, Hypnotic Red or Blue Reef.

“Macdonald’s unique red carpet gowns and embellished styles have cemented him as a go-to brand for a-list clientele who are often praised for their stylish choices with recent fans including Florence Welch, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Shakira, Heidi Klum, Lily Collins, Lucy Hale, Berenice Marlohe, Karolina Kurkova, Josephine de la Baume, Joan Smalls and Kristen Stewart. The Julien Macdonald label is manufactured in Britain.” Julien Macdonald
