J.JS LEE AW2014 Opening show – LONDON FASHION WEEK
Fashion week kicked off with the J. JS LEE show at a 9am start, I was eagerly ready and waiting for my seat by 8.30..
“”BECAUSE it was such a short season I didn’t have time to go camping, so I imagined what it would be like,” explained Central Saint Martins-trained Jackie Lee backstage after her show this morning.”” Vogue.
The opening show of the day 1 London Fashion Week was styled by: Hanna Kelifa, makeup was by Lucy Burt and the MAC Pro Team. Hair for the show was Halley Brisker at Jed Root for L’oreal pro.. And of course lets not forget the nails by the butter LONDON team.
But most importantly the collection, called ‘Off-road Lifestyle’ which focused on comfort and warmth but with ingenious tailoring. Heavy dramatic full length coats and ethereal gowns combined with tent like piping gave the collection a geometric feel. The knitwear was oversized roll necks and classic British fabrics like wool, mohair and my favourite of the three, brushed tartan.
Key colours were cream, midnight navy blue and earth browns.
A beautifully tailored collection inspired by the designers need to escape the city and find tranquility and peace in the English country side.
Jackie JS LEE who was born in Seoul Korea and she came to London to take the Post Graduate Pattern Course at Central Saint Martin in 2007. And after her two years of working as a pattern cutter at Kisa London she came back to study at Central Saint Martin for her MA degree.
In March she launched her eponymous label, J JS LEE featuring sleek and chic androgynous pieces in tailoring. Her vision for creating a label which defines a modern woman who is concerned with looking sharp in a uniquely feminine way has been given a platform to launch itself.
This collection was more subtle than others and i can see myself wearing quite a few pieces, what about you? Please comment below or let’s chat via my twitter @naomikisted
