Istituto Marangoni at Graduate Fashion Week 2016
If you follow my Fashion Week diaries or regularly read our fashion pages you will know I’m a massive supporter of emerging talent and designers. I’m personally on the lookout for a fresh new designer that has styles that work for me and that I would wear so I’m always excited to attend and be involved with Graduate Fashion Week. Yesterday I headed backstage at Graduate Fashion Week to interview some of the talented design grad from Istituto Marangoni.
The five designers I met with and interviewed all had completely different styles and statement pieces which was great to see such diversity and I think that also comes from the fact the school is a cultural hub of students from all over the globe looking to immerse themselves into British fashion.
I interviewed Best Collection winner, womenswear designer Ines Suelves Osorio a bold and dynamic collection “Unsuitable”. French menswear designer Julien Esteves Berthier, his “Troisieme” collection of a fictional 3rd world war. Lara Masojada menswear designer who had a nautical inspired collection “XYX”. South African womenswear designer Shay Adams who fused stripes and ruffles with perfection in her “2030” collection. And finally Carles Urraca Serra a menswear designer who created a tailored collection with attention to detail and embellishment.
The show was a great success with the likes of Amber Le Bon, Donna Air and my friend Olivia Cox and I all admiring the designs from the FROW..
