How To Get The Body You’ve Always Wanted In 6 Months Or Less

DSCF1280You might have tried to get the body of your dreams in the past. Maybe you tried fad diets, teatoxes, and other things that just don’t create sustainable results in the long run. Maybe you tried to do it a healthier, more sensible way, but it still didn’t work out. This guide will help you to get the body you’ve always wanted in 6 months or less. Seriously!

Work Out What Your Goals Are

It’s so important to know your goals. If you’ve gone to the gym in the past and given up, it’s likely because you didn’t really have any idea what you were trying to do. You may have used a few pieces of equipment randomly, and then hopped on a piece of cardio equipment and left. All great workout plans include effective forms of cardio exercise and resistance training, but they need to be done in alignment with your goals. For fat loss, HIIT cardio and resistance training is great. For muscle building, a focus on resistance training and minimum cardio. Make sure you know what you’re trying to do.

Work On Your Self Image

This is something so many people don’t realise plays a big part in how much progress they can make, and how long they can keep that progress for. They think their self image will change as their body changes, but this isn’t the case. You need to change your self-image before and during you reach your goals. If you don’t, chances are, you’ll undo any progress you’ve made at some point. It’s all down to the story we tell ourselves. If you’ve always told yourself you’re not an exercise kind of person or you just love food too much, you need to change the story you’re telling yourself. Change your story and your self image and your body will change faster, and most importantly, stay that way.

Find A Plan Or Make One Yourself

When you know what your goals are, you can find a plan or make one yourself. It’s probably a good idea to try some ready made plans before you attempt to put your own together. Just make sure you’re buying your plan from a reputable source. You don’t need a personal trainer. You just need a plan and YouTube. Resistance training is crucial for anybody’s goal. Building muscle and getting stronger helps the body to burn fat faster, and of course shape up faster. You can try these weight lifting shoes if you want to be sure you’re doing it right!

Take Progress Pictures and Measurements

Progress pictures and measurements are going to give you a much more accurate representation of how you’re doing. The scales are pretty pointless, and can even derail you when you’re making progress if the numbers don’t change. The numbers don’t mean anything!

Overhaul Your Diet

It isn’t just about putting the work in in the gym. You really need to make sure you’re eating to support your goals too. However, you mustn’t fret. You don’t need to starve yourself or eat boring food. That’s why so many people give up too! Restricting yourself might make you see results faster if you want to lose weight, but you’ll likely pile everything back on at some point. Doing it the healthy way is always better. Eat lots of natural foods, like fruits, veggies, nuts, and so on. The more natural foods you eat, the better. You can have treats as long as it’s in moderation. Using an app like MyFitnessPal can be very useful, as you can see if you’re missing anything from your diet and get a better look at what you’re really eating.

Reassess Your Goals When The Time Is Right

If you’ve lost the excess fat you were carrying, it’s time to reassess your goals. You might simply want to maintain, or put on some muscle to get a more ‘toned’ and shapely look. You can reassess your goals every month or so, working out where you need more progress. Just remember, you can’t spot train areas of your body. They’ll shape up and slim down when they are ready!

Be Consistent

Above all else, you must be consistent. Consistency is the key to achieving your dream body. You will likely eat a bad meal at some point, and want to take the rest of the week/weekend off. Don’t do it! Get straight back onto your goals. The same goes with missing a workout. Don’t let it ruin your progress overall. It’s what you do most that counts.
