There’s something so amazingly special about being in your space. It’s a lifelong dream that, once realized can feel overwhelming. And we use our space well! Especially in communal rooms like kitchens and living rooms. Although you might want to touch up the overused areas with a lick of paint at the drop of a hat, decorating can be expensive. Here are some tips and hints for you to liven up your rooms without spending all of your pennies!

1. Move things around
This is super simple and can have a truly dramatic effect. When you move around a room, it can potentially feel brand new! Borrow items from another room in a house and just generally swap things about. Even if you haven’t bought anything especially for the occasion, these little swaps could make all of the difference. Check out what bits and pieces you have hidden away in storage and see if they suit your taste once again – you’ll be surprised!

2. Enjoy some plants
Introducing greenery into your space is a perfect way of giving a tired room a little facelift. A lovely idea is to use a cutting from your garden and see whether it’s suitable to grow indoors. By growing something from scratch, you’ll also achieve an enormous sense of pride!

3. Display your books
Don’t stop at books; magazines make a wonderful display too! For a really pretty display area color code your books and magazines to play with the style and show off your collection to its full potential.

4. Decorate your windows
A simple change like incorporating Made Blinds into a room can completely freshen up the atmosphere. Choose the design to work with your current decor or incorporate a new element of design for a whole new vibe. The possibilities are endless, and you’ll be surprised with the results.

5. Treat yourself to new cushions
Replacing a cushion cover or buying a whole new sofa cushion set can make your upholstery look brand new. If you’re not sure what colors to choose, look for something completely different to what you are currently displaying.

6. Change up your bed
Investing in a new bed frame can be on the expensive side, but a new headboard may not cost you a lot at all, and the change can be miraculous! Treat yourself to a beautiful fabric to upholster the design and use a staple gun to do it yourself if you’re feeling crafty. If you do make it with your own fair hands, you’re bound to love it even more.

7. Mirror mirror on the wall
Open up space even further and add a new dimension but using mirrors to reflect the light. It can look really eye-catching when a mirror isn’t where you’d normally expect it too. It’s a clever trick that will truly change up the aesthetic of your room. A wall of mirrors can look super pretty and use different shape and size mirrors really make the wall a feature.
