Can You Pull Off An Outdoor Wedding?
Can You Pull Off An Outdoor Wedding
You’ve surveyed all the venues, and you’ve already decided that you don’t want to go indoors. No – your idea of a perfect wedding is to take it outside. You’re a picky one, aren’t you?! An outdoor wedding comes with more considerations than an indoor one, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done! All you need to do is make sure you prepare for it in the right way.
But that’s why we’re here! We’ll help you with a few tips to get you on the right track.
Consider Investing In A Sound System
When you’re indoors, it’s easy to hear. The acoustics are great, and even the person at the back of the room won’t have any trouble hearing your speech. When you’re outdoors, it doesn’t work quite like that. You need to consider that poor sound could hamper the experience for your guests. Have you already hired a DJ or alternate form of musical entertainment? Maybe they’ll let you borrow their sound equipment for this task?
Beware Of Windy Weather
You know how you spent all that time making yourself look amazing before the big day? The wind doesn’t care about that. You need to be prepared for the fact that one or two hairs might fall out of place. Dresses might end up blowing about in the breeze, too. And, your canopy or similar tent-like-structure must be rigid to ensure it doesn’t get blown apart.
Are You Prepared With Basic Amenities?
When you take a wedding outside, it’s easy to forget the sheer basic amenities that are needed. What do I mean by this? Food and drink, for starters. If you’re going to be outside in the sun all day, your guests will want easy access to plenty of liquids. Have you got any electric fans to cool them down, too? What about toilet facilities? Have you gone with luxury toilet hire, or are they forced to deal with a stinking portaloo? All of these factors need to be considered.
What You Can & Can’t Do
Picture the scene. You’re having the time of your life at your wedding, enjoying the day without a care in the world. Then, you’re told that your wedding is being shut down because you haven’t obtained the necessary permits. OK – so that’s a long shot, but it could happen. If it did, you’d be devastated. This is why you must make sure you determine what you can and can’t do when it comes to holding your wedding outdoors.
What If It Goes Wrong?
You can never fully predict whether an outdoor wedding will go to plan or not. Normally, it’s the weather that poses the biggest problem. If you find yourself in a torrential storm, for example, what are you going to do? You must make sure you have planned for something like this, or the day will be ruined. If you’ve got an indoor backup solution, the event can continue as it left off with little disruption. Don’t let poor planning ruin your wedding!
