Augustine Jewels Oversized Rings Are The Perfect Autumn Accessory

Big, over the top and extravagant jewellery is all the rage at the moment. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but why not try something different?

Designers such as Miu Miu, Balenciaga and Dsquared2 have all been spotted sporting this trend on the catwalk recently.

We were inspired by this trend whilst creating our latest handmade Autumn 2015 collection. The truly stand out pieces are our beautiful light coloured Amethyst Maxi Ring and our Smoky Quartz Maxi Ring– they glitter away (day and night) and will certainly get you noticed. After all, ‘Bling is Back’ according to The Complete Fall 2015 Trend Guide published by Elle.

In our last blog post we mentioned what causes Rose Quartz and Smoky Quartz to get their different colours, so what about Amethyst?

Amethyst is actually the purple variety of quartz; the purple colouring is usually caused by impurities of iron. It is heat treated to deepen the colour of the gem, which can also cause it turn into Citrine – now there’s some food for thought!

Here at Augustine Jewels we say the more beautiful the stone the better when it comes to jewellery, so why not make a statement and be daring with your jewellery accessories this season. (You are guaranteed to get a compliment, too!)
