2017 New Year Goals Sitting Top Of Many Agendas

Can you believe we are at the end of another year? Time simply goes too fast. But it’s safe to say that we are fast approaching 2017, so it’s understandable that you might be thinking about the new year ahead and setting yourself goals for life changes. Sound familiar? With that in mind, I thought I would share with you some of the most common goals that are taking priority on the agenda for many people. Maybe it will inspire you to add one of them your list of goals.

Moving up the career ladder

A career is important for many people, so it is no surprise that moving up the career ladder, or even changing career could be a high priority for the next twelve months. Perhaps you are wanting to improve your financial position, or just create a better work and home life balance. Whatever your motivation a quick tip is to plan for the career move you want to make. That might mean taking additional courses to increase your qualifications or even showing more initiative in your workplace by taking on extra workload or staying later. Having a plan of action helps you to be accountable for your goals, and ultimately helps you achieve them in the long run.

Buying a house

Perhaps getting on the property ladder is more your thing for 2017, and you have set yourself a goal of doing that. Owning a home is one of the biggest purchases you could make in your lifetime, but also one of the most solid investments you can make. Many people go about buying a property by saving for their initial deposit and correcting their credit score, so it makes it easier to obtain a mortgage. You might also consider checking out places you would like to live in, and doing plenty of research on house prices, schools and the locality of the areas.

Getting married

Maybe 2017 signifies wedding bells for you. Perhaps you have already set a date, or you are making it your mission to be in the wedding planning process in 2017. However, you could be struggling with getting your partner on the same page as you, so it might require a bit of groundwork of conversation or even taking matters into your own hands and proposing yourself. One of the huge advantages of discussing getting married or even popping the question is you could choose your own ring. So if you have lusted after rose gold engagement rings for a while then perhaps this is the year you put a ring on it.

Traveling more

Is 2017 the year you decide to tick off some of the destinations on your bucket list? Or even just travel a little more than you would normally? Then setting yourself a goal to travel more or at least booking in some time off in advance will help you achieve this goal. Researching potential destinations and the best time to visit is a good starting point.

I hope this has inspired you to make some goals for 2017 yourself.

  1. I would say #2 and #4 is the most difficult for most people. Buying a house is probably more feasible than traveling for the regular working person.
